Married:
- Thelma's mother (Sigrid Brickland) wrote :
The wedding was celebrated on February 11th at St Andrews Church Te Kuiti; of Thelma Anna, third daughter of Mr & Mrs H.E.Brickland Te Mapara, to William Herbert, son of the late Mr & Mrs Moore, of Wellington. The officiating minister was the Rev. Mr Nightingale, of Pio Pio, and Mrs Brabyn of Te Kuiti presided at the organ.
The bride, who entered the Church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a trained frock of white angelskin lace, veil and orange blossoms, and she carried a sheath of cream gladioli and maidenhair fern made by Mrs R.Black of Arapoe.
Miss Alma Brickland, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a pale blue satin beaute ankle length frock with silver spray and head dress and carried a sheath of pale pink gladioli, also made by Mrs Black.
Mr Noel Stanaway, of Auckland, supported the bridegroom as best man.
A reception was held at the Carlton Tea Rooms, Te Kuiti, the brides mother receiving the guests frocked in a Marina blue ensemble with London tan hat, and she carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
The bridegrooms stepmother, Mrs L.J.Williams, of Wellington wore a plum coloured ensemble with hat to match, and she carried a bouquet of red roses.
The future home of the happy couple will be at Mairoa.

| Notes |
- Notes from Thelma:
I was conceived in Canada and born in NZ on the 2nd March 1918 at the Taihape Maternity Hospital.
I was my parents 3rd child and 3rd daughter - much to my father's disappointment.
My sister Eleanor was 3 ½ and sister Eileen was 2.
Both my older sisters were born in Chase, BC, Canada.
At the time of my birth my father was farming at Pukeahau near Taihape and this is where I started school.
Going to school involved a 3 mile horse ride each way on one horse - yes, my sisters and I rode bareback and the horse was tethered along with the other pupils' horses while we attended class.
In 1925 (when I was 7yo) and with a few more sisters, we moved to PioPio where our father had purchased another farm.
I was officially enrolled in the PioPio School on 1st June 1925 with the Register No. 736
